Children's Studio — $500,000 Every artist begins somewhere. The Children's Studio is a place where young people discover confidence, creativity, and the joy of performance through camps, classes, and productions. Patron Services/Welcome Center — $500,000 The “show” starts the moment patrons walk in the door. This space is where guests purchase tickets, ask questions, and experience the hospitality that defines Theatre Cedar Rapids. A naming gift helps create a warm and inviting first impression for every patron who walks through our doors.

Rehearsal, Education & Creative Spaces

Fourth Floor Rehearsal Studio — $250,000 Our primary rehearsal space for all auditorium shows. Long before opening night, every production begins in rehearsal. This studio is where actors, directors, musicians, and designers collaborate to shape the performances that eventually come to life on stage.

Second Floor Dance Studio — $100,000 A specialized space for choreography and movement training, supporting students and community members of all skill levels as they refine their craft through our educational programs. With its beautiful sprung floors, natural light and mirrors, this a student and artist favorite, refreshed!

Third Floor Dance Studio — $100,000 A dynamic, new classroom and rehearsal space, allowing for intimate instruction. From first dance steps to final dress rehearsals, this studio supports artistic growth through movement, creativity, and play. It serves students, performers, and community members throughout the year.

‍Third Floor Studio/Children’s Studio Gallery — $250,000 Creativity extends far beyond the stage. This flexible space includes the lobby to our Children’s Studio and supports classes, rehearsals, workshops, and community programs that bring people together through learning, collaboration, and artistic exploration.

Artist Support Spaces

Auditorium Dressing Rooms — $100,000 Behind every memorable performance is a place where artists prepare to step into character. These dressing rooms support hundreds of actors and volunteers each season as they transform imagination into unforgettable theatre.

Auditorium Green Room — $100,000 Between scenes and performances, the Green Room offers artists a place to gather, recharge, and connect. It serves as an important home base for the performers whose talent brings every production to life. With two new private dressing rooms to help serve our diverse community.

Performers Lounge — $50,000 The Performers Lounge provides a welcoming place for artists and volunteers to relax, prepare, and build the friendships that make Theatre Cedar Rapids such a special creative community.

Grandon Dressing Room — $50,000 BSupporting the artists of the Grandon Studio Theatre, this space provides a comfortable place to prepare for the intimate, innovative performances that define our black box experience

Elevator — $500,000 Accessibility opens doors for everyone. Serving every level of the historic Iowa Theatre Building, the elevator ensures that audiences, artists, students, volunteers, and staff can fully participate in everything Theatre Cedar Rapids has to offer.

Grandon Lobby — $50,000 Every performance begins with a welcome. The Grandon Lobby serves as the gathering place for audiences attending productions in our intimate studio theatre, creating a sense of anticipation and connection before the curtain rises.

‍Lobby Concessions Stand — $100,000 A central destination for patrons during intermission, the concessions stand enhances the overall hospitality and enjoyment of a night at the theatre. The Concessions Stand is where audiences gather, reconnect, and experience the TCR Welcome.

Special Purpose Spaces

Library — $100,000 The stories of Theatre Cedar Rapids extend well beyond the stage. Our beautiful library and meeting space preserves the history, scripts, photographs, and creative legacy that inspire future artists while celebrating more than a century of community theatre.

Lighting/Control Booth — $25,000 From a single spotlight to an entire production, countless technical elements come together in this space. The Control Booth is where lighting, sound, projections, and stage management work in harmony to create the seamless theatrical experiences audiences enjoy.

Orchestra Pit — $25,000 Hidden just below the stage, this space is home to the musicians whose artistry brings musicals, concerts, and special performances to life. Your investment in the Orchestra Pit supports the infrastructure that allows live music to flourish at Theatre Cedar Rapids, ensuring audiences continue to experience the power, emotion, and excitement that only a live orchestra can provide.
